Killian is a small Louisiana community of about 1,700 people located 25 miles east of Baton Rouge via Interstate 12. The town sits in Livingston Parish's pine forest and pasture country, with Highway 63 providing north-south access and local roads connecting to Hammond. Most visitors arrive on I-12 from Baton Rouge or New Orleans, while locals use the area roads for daily commutes. The community was named after an early settler family who operated a sawmill here in the late 1800s.
