Keystone is a small farming town in east-central Iowa's Benton County, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Highway 21 runs north-south through town, connecting to Cedar Rapids (35 miles southeast via I-380) and Vinton (8 miles north). Most traffic involves daily commutes to nearby cities or rural residents coming to town for services. The town's century-old grain elevator towers over the prairie landscape, visible for miles across the flat Iowa countryside.
