Kewanee sits in north-central Illinois farm country, about 110 miles from Chicago via I-80 and IL-78. The town serves as Henry County's seat and connects to the Quad Cities via US-6 and to Galesburg through IL-34. Most visitors arrive from Chicago or the Mississippi River corridor, using Kewanee as a waypoint between major destinations. The town proudly calls itself the "Hog Capital of the World" and celebrates this heritage each Labor Day with its annual Hog Days festival.
