Kenmare is a farming town of about 1,000 people in north-central North Dakota, an hour northwest of Minot via US Highway 52. The town sits on rolling prairie with a continental climate featuring cold winters and warm summers. Most visitors arrive from Minot or are passing through on regional agricultural business. The standout landmark is the 1914 Carnegie Library, one of the few original Carnegie libraries still operating in North Dakota.
