Kenefick is a small East Texas town of about 900 people, located 40 miles northeast of Houston in Liberty County. Most visitors arrive via US Highway 90, which runs directly through town and connects to Interstate 10 near Beaumont. The area sits in typical piney woods terrain with a humid subtropical climate. The town was named after railroad surveyor John Kenefick, who helped establish the rail lines that originally brought development to the area.
