Kendleton is a tiny farming town in Fort Bend County, about 50 miles southwest of Houston via US 59 and FM 762. The most common route brings visitors through Richmond, then west through rural agricultural land. This community of 434 was founded in 1984 by freed slaves who established one of Texas's few all-black incorporated municipalities.
