Kempton is a tiny farming community in east-central Illinois, population 258, sitting right on State Route 9. It's about 15 miles east of Gibson City and connects to Interstate 57 about 20 miles away for trips to Chicago or downstate. The classic grain elevator dominates the skyline and can be spotted from miles away across the flat prairie.
