Kelliher is a small northern Minnesota town of 341 people, reached via Highway 72 about 40 miles northeast of Bemidji. The area features classic lake country with dense forests and experiences harsh winters with heavy snow. Most visitors drive Highway 72 from Bemidji or take the scenic route north toward Blackduck and the Canadian border. The town's century-old wooden grain elevator still operates, one of the few original structures left in Minnesota.
