Keachi is a tiny town in northwestern Louisiana's De Soto Parish, about 45 miles southeast of Shreveport via Interstate 49 and Highway 5. Most visitors arrive on Highway 5, which runs right through the center of this community of fewer than 200 people. The town sits in rolling hill country where pine forests meet farmland, and it's home to Keachi General Store, one of Louisiana's oldest continuously operating general stores, still running from its original 1800s wooden building.
