Katie is a small farming town in south-central Oklahoma, about 60 miles south of Oklahoma City along Highway 76. Most visitors exit I-35 at Pauls Valley and drive west on Highway 19 to reach the community. The surrounding agricultural plains support cattle ranching and seasonal crops under Oklahoma's continental climate. Katie's most notable landmark is its historic grain elevator from the 1940s, visible for miles across the flat countryside.
