Kane is a tiny farming town in west-central Illinois with about 200 residents, located 60 miles northwest of St. Louis. Reach it via Interstate 72 west from Springfield, then north on Route 106, or from St. Louis through the river towns on Route 79. The community sits along Apple Creek, which creates a scenic green corridor through the surrounding corn and soybean fields.
