Kake is a remote Tlingit village on Kupreanof Island in Southeast Alaska, reachable only by plane or ferry since no roads connect it to the mainland. The Alaska Marine Highway provides ferry service to other Southeast communities, while Kake Airport sits two miles from town. The community of 624 features a 132-foot totem pole that once held the world record for height.
