Junction City sits along Highway 99W in Oregon's Willamette Valley, about 14 miles northwest of Eugene. Most visitors drive up from Eugene in 20 minutes through farmland, or connect via Highway 36 from Interstate 5. Eugene Airport is 20 miles southeast. The city got its name from the junction of two old railroad lines, and the original depot still stands downtown.
