Junction City is a small Louisiana town on Interstate 20, about 15 miles west of Monroe via Highway 80. The area features rolling pine forests typical of northern Louisiana's humid subtropical climate. Long-distance travelers use it as an I-20 stopping point between Shreveport and Jackson, Mississippi, while locals make short trips to Monroe for services. The town got its name from the railroad junction that founded the community in the early 1900s.
