Junction City is a small central Kentucky town where US Highway 150 connects the Bluegrass region's rolling farmland. Most visitors arrive via US 150 from Louisville (60 miles via Bluegrass Parkway) or Lexington (through Springfield on US 27). The area's fertile soils and mild climate support the horse farms and agriculture typical of this scenic region. The town got its name from sitting at the junction of several historic 19th-century transportation routes, including the old Louisville and Nashville Turnpike.
