Joy is a small farming town in western Illinois, about 15 miles from the Quad Cities. Take Illinois Route 17 east from I-280 to reach this rural community of 387 people. The area features rolling prairie farmland typical of the Mississippi River valley region. Joy's vintage grain elevator from the 1940s still towers over the town and operates during harvest season.
