Joseph is a small farming town in central Utah's Sevier Valley, surrounded by the Wasatch Plateau and Tushar Mountains. Highway 89 connects it north to I-70 and south toward Bryce Canyon, while Route 118 heads west to the mountains. Most locals make the 12-mile trip to Richfield for services. The town's 1900 stone schoolhouse remains one of the valley's best-preserved examples of early rural Utah architecture.
