Jordan is Montana's most isolated county seat, sitting in remote Garfield County about 180 miles from Billings via US 87 north to US 200. The town of 320 people serves surrounding ranch country in the heart of big sky prairie. Highway 200 runs right through town, connecting to Great Falls (160 miles west) and eastern Montana. Jordan famously became the last county seat in the lower 48 to get telephone service in 1951.
