Jonesborough sits about 10 miles west of Johnson City along Route 11E in northeast Tennessee's rolling hills. Most visitors take I-26 to Exit 23, then Route 354 south into the historic downtown. The town claims to be Tennessee's oldest, established in 1779, and its 1913 courthouse clock tower still chimes every hour on Main Street.
