Johnsburg is a small city in McHenry County, about 50 miles northwest of Chicago via I-90 and Route 12. The area features rolling hills, lakes, and wetlands typical of northern Illinois. Route 12 serves as the main north-south corridor through town, connecting to Fox Lake and the Wisconsin border, while Route 173 provides east-west access. The historic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 1858 remains a local landmark with its white steeple visible from the main road.
