Jessup is a small borough in northeastern Pennsylvania's coal country, about 10 miles southwest of Scranton via I-81 and Route 6. The town sits in the scenic Lackawanna River valley with wooded hills all around. Most visitors arrive on I-81 from major cities, while locals use Route 6 for daily trips to Scranton and Carbondale. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport is 20 miles south. Old mining structures and slag piles throughout town tell the story of Jessup's anthracite coal heritage.
