Jerome is a small Illinois town of about 1,800 people located 15 miles south of Springfield along Interstate 55. The main routes are I-55 running north-south and State Route 104 going east-west through farm country. Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport sits just northeast of town. The restored 1920s grain elevator dominates the skyline and can be spotted from miles away on the interstate.
