Jennings is a small agricultural city in southwest Louisiana, about 40 miles from Lake Charles via I-10 and US-26. The town sits in rice farming country with a mix of Cajun culture and oil industry heritage. It's known as the birthplace of blues legend Guitar Slim, whose 1954 hit "The Things That I Used to Do" topped R&B charts for six weeks.
