Jefferson is a tiny farming community in north-central Oklahoma, sitting right on US Highway 81 about 15 miles from Kansas. Most people pass through on US 81 heading between Enid and the Kansas border, or take it as a rural route from Oklahoma City (about 100 miles south via I-35 and US 412). It's classic wheat country with wide-open prairie views and working ranches. The settlement once had its own post office from 1894 to 1955.
