Jasper is a small farming town of about 800 people in southwest Missouri, 15 miles northeast of Joplin via Highway 171. The main routes are Highway 171 north-south and Route 96 east-west, with most visitors coming from I-44 through Carthage. The town's working 1920s grain elevator remains a prominent landmark across the surrounding farmland.
