Jasper is a small farming town of 800 people in southwestern Minnesota, 12 miles from the South Dakota border. Highway 23 runs east-west through town to Pipestone, while Highway 269 provides the north-south route. Most long-distance travelers connect through Pipestone to reach Interstate 90. The town's annual Crazy Days festival features the popular cardboard boat races on Blue Mound Creek.
