Jasper is the Pickens County seat in north Georgia's foothills, about 50 miles north of Atlanta via Highway 515 and I-575. The town sits at 1,400 feet elevation where the mountains begin. Highway 515 is the main route north-south, while Route 53 runs east-west through downtown. The annual Georgia Marble Festival celebrates Jasper's quarrying heritage that provided stone for the Lincoln Memorial.
