Jasper is a small Ozark Mountain town in north-central Arkansas, serving as Newton County's seat with about 450 residents. Highway 7 runs north-south through town, connecting to Harrison and continuing toward Hot Springs, while Highway 74 provides east-west access. The town sits along the Buffalo National River corridor, making it a popular base for canoeing and fishing. The 1926 Newton County Courthouse features a working clock tower whose chimes still mark the hours across the valley.
