Jarrell is a small Texas city of about 3,300 people located 40 miles north of Austin on Interstate 35. Exit 268 connects to the town center, while Highway 305 runs east-west to Georgetown and other Williamson County communities. The area sits where Hill Country limestone meets blackland prairie, supporting both traditional ranching and newer suburban development. Jarrell is remembered for the catastrophic F5 tornado that struck in 1997, one of the most powerful ever recorded in Texas.
