Jamesville is a small town in eastern North Carolina's Martin County, about 90 miles east of Raleigh along US Highway 64. The main route from Raleigh takes you through Rocky Mount and Tarboro, while NC 171 connects north to Williamston. The town sits in flat coastal plain country along the Roanoke River, surrounded by farmland and tobacco fields. Each spring, Jamesville hosts the Herring Festival, celebrating the fish that migrate up the Roanoke River to spawn.
