Jamestown sits along Interstate 94 in south-central North Dakota, about 100 miles west of Fargo and 90 miles east of Bismarck. The city serves as a natural stopping point on the main cross-state route, with US Highway 281 providing north-south access through central North Dakota. Most visitors arrive via I-94 from Minneapolis or Montana, and the regional airport sits just northeast of downtown. The National Buffalo Museum houses White Cloud, one of the few albino bison ever born in captivity.
