Jacksonville is a tiny Athens County community of 344 people in southeastern Ohio's hill country. Take State Route 13 from US Route 33, about 60 miles southeast of Columbus or 15 miles from Athens. The area retains traces of its coal mining past, with old mining remnants visible in the surrounding wooded hills.
