Itta Bena is a small Delta college town in central Mississippi, home to Mississippi Valley State University. Highway 82 connects it east to Greenwood (10 miles) and west toward Arkansas, while Route 7 provides north-south access to I-55 near Grenada. The city's name comes from Choctaw meaning "home in the woods."
