Isanti is a small city about 45 miles north of Minneapolis via Highway 169, serving as Isanti County's seat. The town sits along the Rum River in Minnesota's lake country, accessible from Highway 169 north-south and Highway 95 east-west. Most visitors come from the Twin Cities area or en route to northern Minnesota lakes. The 1888 courthouse remains one of the state's oldest continuously operating county government buildings.
