Irrigon sits on the Columbia River in northeastern Oregon, accessible via Highway 730 along the water and Highway 395 from Interstate 84. Most visitors exit I-84 at Exit 165 and drive 8 miles north, while locals often use the 15-mile route from Hermiston. The high desert climate supports extensive irrigation agriculture, and you can still see some of the original early 1900s concrete irrigation canals that gave the town its name.
