Ionia is a tiny farming community of 74 people in west-central Missouri's Benton County, about 20 miles southeast of Warsaw via Highway 65. The town sits in rolling Ozark foothills where corn and soybean fields mix with wooded creek bottoms. Most visitors use Highway 65 north-south or connect via State Route 7 to reach Sedalia or Kansas City, with the nearest interstate access 45 miles south on I-44. Ionia lies near Missouri's geographic center, making it one of the state's most centrally located communities.
