Iola is a tiny Texas town of 372 people in Grimes County, about 70 miles northwest of Houston. Most folks get there via State Highway 90, which connects to Navasota and Anderson. From Houston, take US 290 to Hempstead, then FM 1774 north to Highway 90. The town sits at the crossroads of Highway 90 and FM 39, where the historic Iola General Store has been serving the community since 1903.
