Interlaken is a tiny mountain town of 156 people nestled between two reservoirs on the Provo River, about 45 minutes southeast of Salt Lake City via scenic US-189 through Provo Canyon. Most visitors pass through on their way to Heber City or Deer Creek Reservoir, though the drive itself offers some of Utah's best canyon views. The town operates its own small hydroelectric plant right on the Provo River.
