Indian Head is a small Potomac River town in southern Maryland, about 30 miles from D.C. via Route 210 (Indian Head Highway). The scenic drive passes through rolling farmland before reaching this waterfront community of 4,000. It's home to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, where the Navy has conducted explosive research since 1918.
