Ilwaco sits where the Columbia River meets the Pacific at Washington's southwestern tip, serving as the gateway to Cape Disappointment State Park. Take US 101 south from Raymond or connect via US 4 west from I-5 near Kelso. The drive from Seattle takes about 3 hours, while Portland is 2.5 hours via US 30 west. You can still watch fishing boats unload their daily catch of salmon and Dungeness crab right at the working harbor docks.
