Ida is a tiny community in northwest Louisiana's pine country, about 20 miles northeast of Shreveport via Highway 169 north from I-20. Most traffic consists of locals commuting to Shreveport or Bossier City for work. Long-distance travelers typically arrive on Interstate 20, the main east-west route through the region. Old logging roads from the area's sawmill days still wind through the surrounding pine forests.
