Hytop is a small Alabama town of about 700 people in Jackson County, near the Tennessee border. It's about 45 miles northeast of Huntsville via US-72 east to Scottsboro, then Highway 35 north through rolling Appalachian foothills. The area serves as a scenic waypoint between Huntsville and Chattanooga, with Scottsboro 15 miles south providing the nearest services. Hytop sits along Larkin Fork, a Tennessee River tributary.
