Hyndman is a mountain town of 850 people in southwestern Pennsylvania, right on the Maryland border. You'll reach it via Route 96 from Cumberland, Maryland (15 miles south) or from Bedford (25 miles north). The town grew around the railroad in the 1870s and still echoes with freight trains passing through its historic mountain tunnel several times a day.
