Hurst is a small farming community in southern Illinois with 700 residents, located along State Route 37 between Marion and Cairo. Most visitors use I-57 or Route 37 to reach the area, with the Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois providing regional air access. The town features one of the region's last operating grain elevators from the early 1900s.
