Hurlock is a small Eastern Shore town of about 2,800 people in Dorchester County, accessible via US Route 50 which runs right through downtown. The highway connects to Cambridge 20 miles northeast and Salisbury 25 miles southeast, serving both local commuters and travelers heading to the coast. Maryland Route 16 intersects here, providing access north to Denton. The restored 1920s Hurlock Theater downtown still operates with its original Art Deco interior.
