Humphrey is a farming town of 713 people in central Nebraska's Platte County, about 20 miles northwest of Columbus via Highway 91. Most visitors arrive from Columbus after taking Highway 30 west from Omaha or connecting from I-80. The town sits in prime agricultural country where corn and soybean fields dominate the landscape. Its original 1887 street grid still defines the downtown area.
