Hulbert is a small Cherokee County town of 444 people in eastern Oklahoma, about 15 miles southeast of Tahlequah via Highway 82. Most visitors arrive from Tulsa (60 miles northwest) or Fort Smith, Arkansas (45 miles east) using US-62 and Highway 82. The town sits in rolling Ozark foothills near the Illinois River, known for excellent smallmouth bass fishing and canoe trips.
