Houston, a small Ozark city of 2,200, sits at the intersection of US Highway 63 and State Route 17 in south-central Missouri. Most visitors arrive via Highway 63 from I-44 near Rolla, about 30 miles north. The city serves as Texas County's seat, and its 1915 courthouse with its prominent clock tower marks the town center, visible right from the main highway.
