Horace is a tiny farming town of 81 people in western Kansas, reached via US Highway 96 running east-west through town. Most visitors come from Scott City (30 miles east) or Tribune (25 miles south on Highway 23) for day trips, though some use Highway 96 as a cross-country route to Colorado. The town's grain elevator stands prominently against the endless prairie sky, visible for miles across the flat landscape.
