Hope is a tiny Pecos Valley community of 49 people in southeastern New Mexico. Located on US Highway 285 between Roswell (40 miles north) and Carlsbad (30 miles south), it sits in high desert farmland at 3,200 feet elevation. The town's main landmark is the Hope General Store, which has operated continuously since 1896.
